  • Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED felicitated sixth time Women’s World Boxing Champion Mary Kom at the closing ceremony of AadiMahotsav” at DilliHaat today.
  • MsKom is the Brand Ambassador for the TRIBES India’s Punchatantra range of products handcrafted by tribal master-craftsmen from across the country.
  • Speaking on the occasion, MrOram said that Mary Kom is the pride of India who has recently won her 6th Women’s World Boxing Championship gold, breaking all previous records of Gold Medals won by any women boxer anywhere in the world.
  • In her speech, the six time world champion said she wants to win even more medals and will continue to aim for gold. She asked people to continue to pray for her so that she can perform even better. The boxer also said that she will extend her help and support to all.

 

NITI Aayog organizes Development Dialogue on Health System

  • NITI Aayog vice chairman Rajiv Kumar has said development dialogue organised by NITI is a sign that health is at the center of the policy narrative.
  • There is a need to move towards breaking silos between stakeholders, remove fragmentation between various initiatives and ensure convergence between various ministries.
  • POSHAN Abhiyan and Ayushman Bharat can be viewed as innovative models for efficiently integrated health systems.
  • During the dialogue the roll-out of the ambitious Ayushman Bharat was also hailed as a good opportunity to bring in systems thinking and de-fragmenting the various building blocks of healthcare systematically over time.
  • Further, strengthening governance, policy and regulatory frameworks and institutions were deemed key to ensuring systemic transformation of the health sector for a new India.
  • There was broad consensus that the development of a health system for India can lead to the growth of a healthy and globally competitive healthcare insurance.
  • The dialogue was the first in the series of NITI Aayog’s “Development Dialogues” that aims to facilitate multi-sectoral conversations on India’s developmental issues, which constitute a part of the country’s 15 Year Vision document.
