SSC abbreviates to Staff Selection Commission, function of SSC is to recruit employees for the ministries and departments of Central government of India. SSC is responsible for the recruitment of various Group ‘B’ ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts in the technical and non-technical government jobs. SSC Syllabus:

Most of the exams conducted by SSC include four subjects

General Intelligence & Reasoning

General Knowledge

Quantitative & Mathematical Ability

Selection Procedure

Objective Type Questions are asked from all the sections of the syllabus. No. of questions may differ from exam to exam. Final merit is prepared on the basis of performance in written test (Objective Type), Skill Test, Interview and physical test as per set norms according to the particular exam. In all major exams negative marking of 0.25 is applied, so you are advised to read the instructions carefully and attempt questions wisely.

SSC conducts various exams for various positions. So eligibility conditions are also varied from one another. You are advised to read concerned advertisement before filling the form or consult our experts for the same.

Some common and important eligibility are as under:

Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL):

Minimum educational qualification is Graduation or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university

Age should be between 18 to 30 years. In some specific posts age limit is exceeded to 32 years

Any other qualification required according to the notification of concerned exam.

Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination

Minimum educational qualification is higher secondary or 10+2 or equivalent

Age limit should be between 18 to 27 years

Typing speed as per notification

Combined Matric Level Examination

Minimum educational qualification is matriculation high school.

Age limit should be between 18 to 27 years

Note: Age relaxation in upper age limit in case of OBC, SC, ST, Disabled persons and Ex-servicemen are given as per govt. rules.

One important aspect of the TNPSC is that the syllabus remains the same for all the groups. Thus irrespective of the post for which you are applying, you need to cross the basic barrier. This is done to test the candidates in the basic knowledge and acumen, which is same across all posts. The option of taking the test either in Tamil or in English ensures that nobody is left out because of a language barrier.
